It is a pity the blogs never picked up this issue.
It would do more damage than Bush's illegal spy
program.
The reason that the illegal spying didn't generate more
outrage is that Bushco has convinced a lot of Americans
that he acted out of a need to protect us.
.
Dems failed to come up with a single abuse that effects
the average American. (Do you think Pete Gas pumper
cares if a bunch of environmental yahoos are wiretapped?)
And Hannity can just say that Libruls want to obstruct
our preznit from keeping us safe.
Of course, the spy issue is important, and should be kept in
the public eye - but I think that this next issue is clearcut -
Bushco is letting his pals deplete the national treasure.
The only reason I can figure that the blogs never gave it
legs is because it gives well deserved credit to the NYT -
God forbid.
If there is another reason, I wish you could clue me in.
Instead of saying that I shouldn't be royally pissed and
disappointed with liberal blogs.
This is the story:
While energy prices soared into the stratosphere, Bushco
kept our nation from sharing in the profit.
Oil companies extracted more than 60 billion in the past 5 years.
But our government royalty payments were kept down.
". . .an often byzantine set of federal regulations, largely
shaped and fiercely defended by the energy industry itself,
allowed companies producing natural gas to provide the Interior
department with much lower sale prices - the crucial determination
for calculating government royalties - than they reported to their
shareholders.
As a result, the nation's taxpayers, collectively the biggest owner
of American oil and gas reserves, have missed much of the recent
energy bonanza."

I have to words to make it a diary.
A few years ago, I actually liked Matthews. but even then there was something "funny" about him. He would say someting
on target one evening, then say the complete opposite tne next.
The capper came at the democratic convention when he
cut off a brilliant speech by Al Sharpton, claiming that it was
devisive.
At that point, it became crystal clear, that the mouth was
for rent.
The Interior Department is opening 389,000 acres of wild, pristine areas for oil exploration.

This will impact most on migratory birds, but all animals will be effected.
It means development. Motels, fast food joints, entertainment, malls, offroad fun vehicles. Because a worker's gotta sleep, eat, shop and have fun.
Not to mention the rusty crap they leave all over the place.
"Remember MONICA LEWINSKY?
You know, the woman caught in a scandel with BILL CLINTON and nearly got CLINTON IMPEACHED?
Well, it seems that Jack Abramoff and Monica Lewinsky
attended the SAME GRAMMAR SCHOOL!

I had been pulling all-nighters for several weeks and missed this.
Considering all the pro-times hell I was raising, I can't figure out why it was so much trouble for someone to simply provide a link.
Of course the NYT times deserved being bashed and even boycotted for this.
The previous diary
I couldn't figure out why overnight all the liberal blogs were beating up on the Times. It's been a while since Plame. They did bad. But this paper is self-critical and took actions to atone. Meanwhile, they've done some pretty damned amazing things. Such as running a piece the night before the vote on the Patriot act - causing all hell to break loose in the senate.
And the articles on wiretapping should win an award.
So why were the blogs still going for the jugular?
I just learned something today that may possibly shed light on the mystery.
Last year the times fired or cut 190 employees and replaced some positions with freelancers. The Union staff was very unhappy.
The Times also may have angered the local union by siding with the city in the recent transit strike.
This city would have been up a shit creek without a paddle if that strike had gone through Christmas. Small businesses were at the brink of going under because shoppers had no way of getting to them.
I wonder if the blogs are aware that a lot of the outrage could actually have nothing to do with Judith Miller. It could be former employee or possibly union vendetta.
The Times isn't perfect, but it's trying. And it's the best paper this world has right now. We subscribe and one of life's great pleasures is morning coffee and the NY Times.
Because it would tip off Microsoft operatives hired to respond, as in a previous diary.
Microsoft is doing the bidding of the Chinese Authorities.
The story in the NY Times (the paper at the top of the right wing list to destroy - so much that they are penetrating liberal blogs to finish off the job)

More and more, it's becoming evident that the nose in Bananas is right off the face of Bill Gates.
Meanwhile, around the same time::

Without a doubt Microsoft with its reputation for grab and greed, and its fear and envy of Apple to the point of aping Job's every move, will be making sure that Mac users won't be able to download, or will have a hell of a time doing it.
The sleazoid book is called "The Apprentice."
The New Yorker had an article on the nauseating stuff as well.
Stuff like taking a piss in front of the nose of a dead deer.
10 year olds into beastiality.
Horrific.

Apparently, he's in for a re-energized writing career. According to this,
The Apprentice is selling bigtime:
